The student should have passed the Senior Secondary (+2) Examination (In any academic stream ) conducted by the H.P. Board of School Education or an examination accepted as equivalent there to by the various bodies of the H.P. University.
Provided that a student who has passed qualifying examination with science stream shall be given preference in admission to B.Sc./BCA Programme.
Provided that a student who has passed qualifying examination in Arts Stream will be given preference in B.A. Programme.
provided that a student who has passed qualifying examination with commerce stream will be given preference in B.Com/BBA Programme.
A student who has passed Shastri, Prak-Shastri from Sanskrit college affiliated to the H.P.U. Or Rashtria Sanskrit Sansthan (Deemed University) under MRHA Govt. of India shall be eligible for admission to arts stream only, provided that the candidate has passed Prak-Shastri of Shastri with English as one of the Subjects.
Vocational subjects under NVEQF shall be given weightage equivalent to any other general Education subject.
Merit will be worked out by taking into consideration the best of five subjects including English as one of the subjects.
The roster for reservation of seats for various categories shall be as per rules of H.P.U given below

Admission will be made on the recommendation of admission committee.
Admission will be strictly on fulfilment of eligibility conditions.
All admissions will be provisional subject to be approval of V.C H.P.U. Shimla.
All terms and conditions of the admission and fee structure can be changed or modified as per directions of HPU Shimla.
A candidate seeking admission will be accompanied by his/her parents/guardian at the time of admission.
A student must produce original certificates at the time of admission.
A candidate having a gap of one or more years in their studies will have to submit an Affidavit explaining the reason.
Girl student seeking admission in any class must bring an attested copy of H.P bonafide certificate to avail themselves of fee concession (Tuition fee only).
A candidate expelled by any college/ university or found involved in any indisciplinary activities in the preceding year (s) will not be admitted in the college.
If the student gets admission by furnishing incorrect information or by concealing the facts, his/her admission will be cancelled on detection of such fault by the College/university.
In spite of the eligibility for admission, the Principal can refuse admission if the conduct of the student has not been up to the mark during previous year.
The Principal reserves the right to reject or cancel the admission of any student without assigning any reason (s) or explanation if situation warrants so.

After completing MBBS course in AFMC, you get commissioned into the Indian Armed Forces as a Lieutanant and do internship at a military hospital in India simultaneously. After that you are promoted as Captain and placed as Medical Officer at military posts.
Afmc has good infrastructure with good lecture halls and demo rooms equipped with air conditioners. The labs are very much well maintained. The hostel rooms are very good and comfortable. The Central Cadets Mess also offers very good food. The synthetic track here is one of it's only kind in any medical college in India.
